Happy Holidays Homies!

So this past weekend was absolutely positively amazing! #SpoilerAlert I got engaged!  At our annual Christmas party, Sirr proposed, and I SAID YES!  I will be posting a video sharing the party and proposal details later.

But before Christmas sneaks up you and your holiday guests I wanted to share the cutest and most delicious appetizer recipe that I served for my guests at our holiday party. Oh, boy was it a big hit!

Avocado Hummus and Pita Trees were simple to make and great to taste.  I came up with an original recipe for the hummus spread. Here is what you going to need:

Tribe Garlic and Herb Hummus

Spicy Avocado Hummus or Spinach Hummus

Fresh Spinach

Sweet Onion Pita Bread

Pretzel Sticks

Red Peppers

First, blend or chop up your spinach finely. Mix spinach with the garlic and herb hummus and spicy avocado hummus (spinach hummus is optional for greener color).  I used the juice from the spinach to create a greener hummus spread.

Cut your pita into small triangles by cutting the whole pita in halves, then fourths, and so on until you have a little tree.

Next, cut the pretzel stick in half and insert them into the bottom of the pita tree.

Spread the hummus mixture onto each pita tree.  Then garnish with diced red peppers in a zig zag pattern to resemble tree garland.

And you have it, a healthy and festive appetizer for your family and friends this Christmas.
