Happy Holidays Homies!

Well, Sirr and I are at it again! In one week we will be hosting our 3rd annual ugly Christmas sweater party and this year, we plan to take it to a whole other level with a 70’s Disco Christmas theme.  DIY Disco balls, afros, and platform shoes included! It is sure to be outta sight and dy-no-mite!

With the party and Christmas right around the corner, we will have a few hundred family and friends celebrating the holidays in our home.  So I had to get the house in tip-top shape, especially our guest bathroom.  After a grueling DIY remodel, I got up the courage to do a few updates in our guest bathroom. CLICK HERE to check out the makeover reveal and tutorials.

Here was the state of my guest bath before.  It is mainly Royal’s bathtub and toys domain since this bathroom is closest to her room.

I also had this toilet paper holder that was rusted and wobbly. It came with the house when we bought it.  I didn’t feel the need purchase a brand new holder, so I decided to give it a little makeover since the holder was FREE.

This empty roll is still on here because if I don’t change it, NO ONE WILL!!!!! Apparently, I was solely born to be the only person in this house that can put a new roll on the holder! Let me stop. That is a whole other rant for the another day. #laughingbutserious

First, I evaluated the stand to figure out why it was wobbly.  It turned out that the screw holding it together was loose so it was an easy fix. Then I took it apart for cleaning.

I used a regular household cleaner and scouring pad to break up the dirt and rust.

Then used a 220 grit sanding block to sand off what the cleaner could not get off.

I wiped each piece down with a dry cloth to remove all dust.  Now it is time to prime and paint.

I sprayed on one coat of primer and proceeded to let it dry.

Next, I used a metallic gray spray paint for my color and sealed and protected my work with a high gloss finishing coat.

Now that the stand was looking spiffy I was off to add a little Christmas disco decoration and stock up the bathroom.

As you saw previously from the barely naked tissue roll we were low on TP, so I had to stock up. I stopped by my local Target to pick up a couple of packs of Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls. You can never have too much tissue especially with a large house party coming up. Quilted Northern Mega Rolls are 4 regular rolls in one – so they last longer, meaning fewer roll changes and no interrupting my groove down the soul train line from party patrons requesting more toilet paper. #notgroovy

I added some new bathroom accessories to store more toilet paper and holiday decorations to give the room a festive vibe.

Threw in some disco sparkle too!

Everything came together perfectly, and I can’t wait to celebrate the holidays with my guests next week!

To pick up your pack of Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong Mega Rolls head on over to your local Target.  I found the tissue in the bath tissue aisle. Also, receive 10% off this item when you use the Target Cartwheel offer. Offer dates: 12/4- 12/31

To make this deal even sweeter you can enter the Quilted Northern sweepstakes for the chance to win a $1000 Target gift card.
