DIY Yarn Tapestry #FabFallFest Fun!

by Saturday, September 3, 2016

Hey, Homies!!!

It’s September 2016 and the fall season is soon approaching! A few weeks ago I gave in and admitted that I was ready for fall and #totally over the daily 90 degree temperatures in Atlanta.

So when I found out that a few of my favorite Instagram DIYers were ushering in the season with fun weekly hashtag party called, #FabFallFest I was so down to join in!

o,…≥lo /will be making a Yarn tapestry.  If you think this piece of art would look great in your fall decor, go ahead and give it a try.

Here is what you are going to need:

First, cut your burlap into whatever shape you like. It can be straight across, on an angle, or zig zag. I decided on a V shape.

Next step, painting!  Using your painter’s tape create any design you fancy.

I used spray paint but of course, the obvious choice is good ol’ acrylic paint.  I just wanted to use what I had around the house to keep this project $FREE. 99

While the paint is drying, you can then tackle the yarn.  I cut pieces of yarn the length of my dowel rod. Why do you ask? I don’t know. Just seemed like a good measurement in an eyeballs shot. Lol,  One piece of yarn doubled the length of the dowel rod.

I tied six pieces of yarn in a knot and hot glued the bundles of yarn to the edge of the burlap once the paint is dry

Finally, add your desired length of yarn to the ends of your dowel rod and hang it on your wall.  The ends of your yarn will more than likely need a little trim too.

After, your tapestry gets a chic haircut you are all done! And there you have it.
